CHROME USAGE SHORTCUTS

Google chrome is a fastest developing web browser in recent years.Since the arrival of Google chrome has not been a long away, we  are not so much aware of the various hidden facilities present in Chrome browser. Here some Google Chrome tips, tricks and shortcuts are given. Have a glance of it, so that you can improve your browsing speed and efficiency in chrome.

1. Create desktop and Start menu shortcuts to web apps such as Gmail - go to Gmail.com and then select Create application shortcuts... from the Page Control menu (in the top-right corner of your browser - it looks like a page with the corner folded over). Now choose where you want to place your shortcut. This works for other Google apps such as Calendar and Documents, and other services such as Windows Live Hotmail.

2. Control + Shift + N opens an 'incognito' window - sites you view in this window won't appear in your history and cookies served by sites in this window will be deleted when the window is closed.

3. You can open a link in an incognito window by right-clicking the link and selecting Open link in incognito window.

4. Alt + Home loads your Google Chrome home page, with thumbnails of your most visited sites shown in the active tabbed window.

5. Control + T opens a new tab. You can drag tabs around to change their order or drag a tab out of the window into its own window.

6. Control + Shift + T opens your most recently closed tab. Press the key combination again to open the tab closed before that one. Google Chrome remembers the last 10 tabs you've closed.

7. Jump to different open tabs using Control + 1, Control + 2, Control + 3, etc. Control + 9 takes you to the last tab.

8. Control + Tab lets you cycle through your open tabs in order.

9. Control + Shift + Tab cycles through your tabs in the opposite order.

10. As with Firefox 3, you can drag a link onto a tab to open it in that tab, or drop it between two tabs to open a new tab in that position.

11. To bookmark a site click the star on the left of the address bar and then select a folder to add it to.

12. Control +B hides the Google Chrome bookmarks bar. Press Control + B to bring it back again.

13. Right-click or hold down the back button and you'll get a drop-down list of sites to go back through. Show Full History, at the bottom of the list, opens a new tab with your full browser history.

14. Control + H is a faster way to bring up the History page.

15. You can delete history for chosen days by scrolling to the day you want to delete and clicking Delete history for this day on the right-hand side of the window.

16. Control + J brings up your Downloads page.

17. To clear an item from your Downloads page, right-click an entry and select Remove.

18. Press Control + K or Control + E to search from the address bar. Once pressed, you'll see a ? symbol appear in the address bar and you can simply enter your search query and hit Return.

19. Right-click the top of the browser window and select Task manager to see how much memory different tabs and plug-ins are using. Highlight one and click End process to stop it running.

20. Shift + Escape is a quicker way to bring up the Google Chrome Task manager.

21. To see what plug-ins are installed, type about:plugins into the address window.

22. You can also type the following commands into the Google Chrome address window: about:stats, about:network, about:histograms, about:memory, about:cache, about:dns.

23. Type about:crash to see what a crashed tab looks like.

24. A three-second diversion: type about:internets. (Only works in Windows XP.)

25. Edit any web page - right-click a page and select Inspect element. Now edit the HTML source code and hit Return to view the changes.

26. To make Google Chrome your default browser, click the Tools button (in the right-hand corner of the browser window - a spanner icon). Select Options, click the Basics tab and then click the Make Google Chrome my default browser button.

27. To delete cookies, go to Tools > Options > Under the Hood. Scroll down to the Security section, and click Show cookies. Now you can click Remove all or remove individual cookies.

28. To clear more data such as the Google Chrome browsing history and cache, click the Tools icon and select Clear browsing data...

29. To clear the most visited web sites that appear on your Google Chrome start page, you must clear your browsing history using the method above.

30. Clearing your Google Chrome browser history will also stop matches from previously browsed sites appearing as suggestions in your address bar.

Dear friends, while browsing about how to increase the number of visitors for my blog,I found the following fifteen Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Tips from Google’s Matt Cutts. Definitely I hope it’s worth reading if you want to increase your chances of getting Google love for your site:

1. Check your blog on a cell phone.
2. Make your post dates easy to find.
3. Don’t put your blog at the root of your domain.
4. Name your directory ‘blog’ instead of ‘wordpress’.
5. If using AdSense, use section targeting.
6. In URLs, no spaces are worst, underscore are better, dashes or hyphens are best.
7. Include keywords naturally in your posts.
8. Use alt tags on images: not only is it good accessibility, it’s good SEO.
9. Blogs should do standard pings.
10. Standardize backlinks (don’t mix www with non-www).
11. Use a permanent redirect (301) when moving to a new host.
12. Don’t include the post date in your URL.
13. When moving between hosts, wait until Googlebot and traffic begin to visit the new host before taking down the old one.
14. Use partial-text feeds if you want more page views; use full-text feeds if you want more loyal readers.
15. Use FeedBurner’s MyBrand feature to take control of your feeds (i.e., feed.domain.com instead of http://feeds.feedburner.com/domain).

HOW DO ORKUT | GMAIL | GOOGLE ACCOUNTS HACKED , PREVENT IT

                  Last week one of my friends' Orkut account has been hacked. we tried to recover the account but the hacker changes the password immediately and we could not get it back. I could see the preciousness of an account on that day on my friend's eyes.

                                   Normally All type of attacks are following the same scenario, The origin is clicking the unwanted links from other's profiles. An example snap is shown in the image below.

               After you clicking the link, it goes to an page asking Username and password.. If you enter, Game is over.. So At this stage you must not give your username and password..

Warning: Please Don't type your Gmail | Orkut passwords at sites which are not from google.

TCS WEBSITE IS STILL HAVING TROUBLES

I hope you all know about the hacking done on TCS website on February first week of this year(2010). That time, somebody has cracked into DNS of TCS and put up it for sale. But now there is some other Browser related problem is going on.

Few days back i was asked by our staff to register on TCS website for Campus recruitment. I visited it using my Google Chrome Browser. It shows some security related problem. And then I have informed it to TCS, they have corrected it.. See the snap below..

ORKUT SCRAPS WITH MAPS NOW

Hey my dear Orkut friends, Now Orkut is having the facility to scrap with maps.. In the Official Orkut blog software Engineer "Rodrigo Almeida" informed about this as given below

            
               "A few weeks ago we announced the option to add photos to scraps on the new orkut. Now, we're thrilled to tell you that you can also add maps to you scraps!

To add a map to a scrap, first click the text box to write and edit a scrap. You'll then see customization options on the top. Just click the red placemark icon to add a map to your message, like this:

You can search for a specific address or place (anywhere in the world!), or you can manually drop a placemark onto the map. Both options are easy, even if you're unfamiliar with Google Maps.

Once you select an address, your scrap draft will look like this:

Just post it and your friend will see the map you added. If the map is clicked, it loads the Google Maps page for that same spot, so your friend can further explore the area, check Street View photos, and even find public transit, drivingor biking directions to get there.

HOW TO OPEN ORKUT ORIGINAL FULL PAGE VIEW IN OPERA MINI

        Now a days the use of mobile phone internet is considerably increased. And the Opera mini is the most targeted browser for mobile internet users. whenever i visit  Orkut through Opera mini, I will suffer with the Orkut mobile version a lot. Some features like forums, communities,etc are not there in mobile version. Upto last january i will use the link below the mobile orkut site saying "Visit Full Site".. But now a days it's not working and again it redirects to the same Mobile Orkut page.

                                                          Now there is a solution for this problem. you type this URL in your phone browser (Opera mini) https://www.orkut.com/home (Don't remove http or www) and go... That's all.. Keep rocking friends..
